When can I change my puppy's diet to a diet suited for adult animals?

Generally it is advised to switch after the biggest growth spurt. The age when switching differs for small and large breeds. Small breeds have the biggest growth spurt around five or six months of age and can be fed regular maintenance feed from that moment. For large breed dogs this happens around ten to twelve months of age. Consult your veterinarian when it is the best moment to switch to maintenance food for the adult dog. This is needed because of the different calcium and phosphorous requirements during bone development.
